What Exactly is the FCC’s 5G Fast Plan?

The FCC's 5G Past Plan Explained in their own Words

Under Chairman Pai, the FCC (the USA Federal Communication Commission) is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to facilitate America’s superiority in 5G Technology (the 5G FAST Plan). As countries worldwide vie for the lead in the “5G Race for Economic Dominance”, each with strategies similar to the FCC’s , it is important for technology consumers to stay informed for two reasons. The first is that being knowledgeable is key to using our technology wisely and safely. The second is that learning what the stated missions of our technology-governing bodies helps us understand that they do not see their roles as anything other than what is stated, so your own wise, safe use of technology really is up to you.

Here, in the FCC’s own words, we see the picture of how the FCC sees its role, and where the FCC is going with its plans for increasing wireless technology.

The Chairman’s strategy includes three key components:
(1) pushing more spectrum into the marketplace;
(2) updating infrastructure policy;
(3) modernizing outdated regulations.

1. Pushing more Spectrum into the Marketplace

The FCC is taking action to make additional spectrum available for 5G services.

2. Updating Infrastructure Policy

The FCC is updating infrastructure policy and encouraging the private sector to invest in 5G networks.

3. Modernizing Outdated Regulations

The FCC is modernizing outdated regulations to promote the wired backbone of 5G networks and digital opportunity for all Americans.

Want to Keep Pace with FCC’s Fast Plan?

As new developments occur they will be posted on the FCC 5G Fast Plan Enchantments page. So, consider this page to be Central Dispatch if you missed Chariman Pai’s announcement of the newly committed 5 Billion Dollar 5G Fund to provide 5G to Rural America, or you want to keep current with what 5G frequency auctions are underway, or you are just curious about the government rhetoric being used to keep Americans current with the FCC’s “strategy for realizing the promise of the 5G future.” as it “advances American 5G Leadership”.

On the Other Hand

The following two pdfs typify documents, petitions and statements from legal proceedings that have been brought before the FCC since the announcement of 5G was first made, among thousands other similar submits, outlining the dangers of 5G and calling for a halt of 5G deployment until adequate biological studies could be done.

However, as much as we look to our governing bodies to protect us, the FCC clearly defines its role as it is stated here, and not as a health watchdog of the technology consumer. Consumers then are advised to find trustworthy source of information in order to make informed decisions on their use of wireless technologies, like 5G.
